Therapeutic Mentoring

The Mentoring services are provided for adolescent youth in need of a mentor in their life. Mentoring services focus on building relationships with the youth, their family and community. Mentoring services are intended to build skills to help decrease symptoms and behaviors in all settings.

Objective

These services are to help in the management of psychological, behavioral, emotional, cognitive and social factors affecting a child's day to day performance. They help assist the child and improve family interactions and to support a child in the home, school and community.

Goals

The services are designed to restore basic skills that the child lost or never achieved.

Solution

Services may include the following skills for effective functioning with peers, family members and community.

  • Conflicts resolution skills
  • Social skills
  • Communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Interpersonal relationship skills

Services will be taught by role playing, modeling and coaching in the youth's natural environment. The service is currently provided in the Omaha and Lincoln areas.
